Our good friends in at UBER are putting on something real special for you folks in the west of the UK this saturday. If you like your music DEEP & are unfotunate in being too far away from London this weekend then we strongly recomend heading over to Hare & Hounds, 106 High Street. Kingsheath. Birmingham where they’ll be bringing none other than Detroit Swindle duo to headline their April date. A production duo at the top of their game & turning heads at the moment both together as well as with solo projects such as the recent Lars Vegas release “The Game”.

In support will be the UBER residents bringing the heat just like they normally do, namely Paul Griff, Gary Ward & Richie Barthez. These guys can rock a club just on their own without needing to book in headliners like Detroit Swindle. So….do we rally need to go on. Tickets are still available so be quick. Well, most importantly its essential that you support your local events & friends, secondly if I mention the name ASHLEY BEEDLE it all becomes clear. Yes, the Heavy Tempo collective have managed to secure the lovely new(ish) venue of OPEN in the city centre of Norwich to bring House Legend Ashley Beedle to kick Launch Party off in style. For those that have been living under a rock for clearly too long Ashley Beedle is synonymous in the scene, maybe if I said, Black Science Orchestra, The Ballistic Brothers or maybe X-Press 2. Yes this man has played a crucial part in all of the forementioned “acts” creating anthems for the dancefloors worldwide & quite possibly a legacy in music unmatched by only a few, inspiring generations of now successful artists & music lovers alike in the past & for a long time to come. If you don’t believe me when I say how good this guy is then find out for yourselves & make it down to Heavy Tempo @ Open, Bank Plain, Norwich this saturday. Recorded LIVE from saturdays show on what is now known as World Record Store Day we decided to pay homage to that beautiful thing called “wax!!”. Yes. A Full 2 hr show played on nothing but VINYL!!!!! Bringing a selection of old, & New (ish) numbers covering Soulful, Deep House & Broken Beats Miloe digs deep into the racks & crates to bring this weeks Soulcast in all its glory.

Vinyl still holds a place close to many peoples hearts, when it comes to collecting music or to artists selling music & wanting to offer their material  as an exclusive format as without releasing digitally the artist can offer what is a limited edition run of product. Not only this , it is through this format that the debate of its place in the music industry both with the DJ, Music collector arguing both sides of the coin. One being that it is a format that although was intrisically influential in the making & creation of the DJ, World Club Scene as we know them today it is a format that has had its day & should be put to oneside in the name of progress, namely Technology. Yes many of us are now using software such as Ableton, Serato & Traktor to entertain the masses in new & even more creative ways to inspire generations of music lovers, while on the other side of that coin some  still remember the format of vinyl, be it remembering the times of carrying heavy record boxes through a crowded dancefloor to get to the DJ booth, the love of the feel of the vinyl on the turntable & how tactile it is to use. Maybe even as obscure as the wonderful smell of the sleeves  stored for time on the shelves & the joy & experience of going through the archived collection be it in the crates, record boxes or shelves. The fact remains that this physical format remains a stalwart format in the industry now seeing its rise again with a younger demographic of music lovers aged between 18 to 24 now championing it as their favoured format to build their music archives. Is it the fact that a physical format can have memories attatched to it more easily which then leads us into a debate more about how the human mind works or is it the fact that that 12″ by 12″ sleeve can have what could be regarded as one of the largest canvas sizes for artwork in the music industry, or is it just that that tactile experience combined with that “black magic tone” achieved by the format does things that other formats simply will NEVER achieve to the human mind, body & soul. You choose,  all that remains is that it remains a favourite of the true heads & instead of just going to a record store once a year to celebrate record store day, maybe you should make it a regular experience to go in & delve into the stores crates & support an industry that is now considered to be on its knees.
